Step 2 : Configure PPPoE or LTE Address for internet access

PPPoE

PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet)

It is primarily used by ISPs, especially with DSL services, to provide secure and authenticated internet access over Ethernet networks.

How to setup a PPPoE account.

Open Winbox -> Login to Router -> Click on PPP -> Add PPPoE Client –> Select inferface -> Enter Username and Password.

Alternative address for internet access

This option is typically used when we use an LTE router for internet access or when the PPPoE account lives on different router than our Mikrotik.

How to setup the alternative address

Open Winbox -> Click on IP -> Click on Addresses -> Click the Plus Icon and add the address.

Remember this address needs to be on a different network range than your local LAN and needs to be different than the address of the second router.

In Step 3 you will be shown how to create the address and how to link the address to an ether port.
